Hosting and delivery

This website is hosted and delivered by BunnyWay d.o.o., Cesta komandanta Staneta 4A, 1215 Medvode, Slovenia (bunny.net). We use their CDN, DNS, container hosting (Magic Containers) and database (Bunny Database). The application and the database run in Germany.

When you open a page, your browser automatically sends technical data: your IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system (user agent). bunny.net needs this data to deliver the site and to protect it against attacks, and may keep it in short-lived server logs. Pages are delivered from the bunny.net edge location nearest to you, which for visitors outside Europe can be outside the EU.

Our own application does not write IP addresses to logs. To block automated abuse of the sign-up form, it keeps the IP address of each sign-up attempt in memory for at most ten minutes; it is never written to disk.

Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is delivering the website securely and reliably. bunny.net processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).

Launch list

If you enter your email address in the sign-up form, we store it together with the time of sign-up in Bunny Database (Germany). We use it for a single purpose: to tell you when the index opens. We do not share it with anyone else and do not use it for advertising.

Legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time, without giving reasons, by replying to our email or writing to mail@windfactory.net. We then delete your address. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it.

We keep your address until you withdraw your consent or we close the list, whichever comes first. We will name the email delivery provider in this notice before the launch email is sent.

Analytics

We count visits with Umami, an open-source analytics tool. We run it ourselves at analytics.windfactory.net on a server rented from netcup GmbH, Daimlerstraße 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany. No data goes to Umami the company or any other third party.

Umami sets no cookies and does not follow you across websites. It records the page visited, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and the country derived from your IP address. Your IP address itself is not stored. Visits within a session are grouped using a pseudonymous identifier calculated from a one-way hash of IP address and browser data with a regularly changing secret, so it cannot be traced back to you.

Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is understanding how many people visit the site and where they come from. You can object at any time (see below), or simply block analytics.windfactory.net in your browser or with a content blocker.

Fonts and other content

All fonts, styles and scripts, except the analytics script above, are served from this website itself. We do not embed content from other providers such as Google Fonts, maps or videos.

Encryption

This site is only available over HTTPS, so data you send, such as your email address, is encrypted in transit.

Your rights

Regarding your personal data, you have the right to:

Other information

You are not obliged to provide any personal data; without an email address we just can’t notify you. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
